Golden Isles a Force in the Disney 3v3 Nationals !

Disney Sports Complex - Orlando, FL: 

Golden Isles sent five qualifying teams among the over 500 teams at the 3v3 Nationals in Orlando this weekend.  Eric Keller’s U18G "Attitude" were the National Runner-up, losing to RSL in the finals.  Brad Stroud’s U10G "Little Terror" were equally successful, losing to the Termigators 5-2 in the national championship.  Brad Watkins U8B "Thunder", Ben Dorshner’s U10B "Fire", and Keller’s U11G "Connor’s Crew"  all represented Golden Isles well.  Congratulations to All !!!

U14 Boys Capture GISA Jr Shootout

Jekyll Island, May 20, 2007:  The U14 Boys United captured the White Division Championship at this weekend's Junior Shootout.  The victory was even more poignant  for Coach Dwight Sweat and the players, in that it was keeper, Will Breuker's (back row in white shirt), last game with the team.  Everyone at GISA wishes Will and the entire Breuker family the very best of luck and happiness in Colorado.

Albany, GA. Nov. 18, 2007: After an initial loss to ultimate champions, Albany Y Hotspurs, the U14 Lady United kept their next three opponents scoreless, finishing the tournament in second by just 2 points. The Ladies finished 3-1-0 with 7 goals for and just 2 against. The game vs Hotspurs was memorable for its 8am kickoff time, quarter inch of frost, and freezing temperatures. Neither team could generate much offense in the 2-1 match.  The Ladies got hot as the temperatures warmed with all the weekend’s matches very competitive.

State Champs - Again !

 Columbus, GA, May 20, 2007:  The U14 Lady United captured their second straight State Rec Cup Championship defeating the Cherokee Shooting Stars at Woodruff Farm Field Sunday afternoon.  Taylor Creighton’s far post goal off a direct kick only 1:45 into the game held up as the difference.  The girls finished the season 22-2 allowing just 16 goals and scoring a whopping 103.  The 100th goal of the season was scored by Kaitlyn Mannis on a cross by Sarah Geer in a 4-1 victory Saturday against Cherokee Spirit that clinched a spot in the State Championship game.  In addition to the the State Cup, Coaches Pat Geer and Rick Butler were presented with the GYSA Fair Play and Sportmanship Award by Region IV Director, Spec O’Quinn.  Coach Geer commented, "This award means more to me than the championship.  Because it’s based on the behavior and attitudes of the coaches, players, and parents.  It’s voted on by the referees who witnessed what I see everyday - great kids, great parents, and great team support. " Congratulations Lady United! 

GYSA District 2 Champs !

Woodruff Farms Soccer Complex, Columbus, GA, May 6, 2007:  The U14 "Lady United" captured their second straight District Championship defeating Henry County Cheetahs 2-0 in Sunday’s Finals.  The "Ladies" are seeded first in the State Rec Cup Finals that begins May 19.  Congratulations and Good Luck in the Finals!

Rowdies Capture GYSA Academy Cup

Gainesville, GA, May 20, 2007:  The GISA U12 Boys "Rowdies" captured the Green Division of the State Academy Cup held at Allen Creek Soccer Complex, by defeating Inter Atlanta Futbol Club Blue 3-2 in the finals.  The Rowdies, coached by Bobby Brockman and Bill Barrow were a perfect 3-0 in the pool round, scoring 7 goals and giving up just 2.  Congratulations Guys !

Lady United Capture Florida's Region B3 Commissioner's Cup

Jacksonville, FL:  The U14 Lady United coached by Pat Geer and Rick Butler captured the Commissioner's Cup of Florida's B3 Region Sunday afternoon, defeating a very strong Jacksonville Youth Soccer Chaos team.  The girls managed 19 goals during the two day competition, distributed between 11 different players.  Next up for the Ladies is a trip to Columbus, GA and a shot at a second straight State Rec Cup Championship.

Rowdies Capture World Series Championship

Nov 12, 2006:  Our Golden Isles U12B Rowdies captured the US Club Soccer Youth World Series Championship held in Jacksonville this weekend with a convincing 7-1 win over First Coast Soccer Kyx.  Coach Brockman's team were named the All-offense and defense team (38 gf, 1ga) with Landon Barrow receiving the Golden Boot Award for his six goal performance in the tournament.  In addition, both Isaac Avila and Roman Brockman were named to the All-Youth World Series Jacksonville Team. Congratulations to Coach Brockman and the Rowdies!
U18 Girls Capture FarmRich Seaside Challenge

Our U18 Girls lead by Coach Peter Witts notched their first tournament victory as a team on September 30th, defeating the North Atlanta Soccer Association Silver girls in the finals on Jekyll Island.  The team plays in the North Florida Recreation Division.

 

 
Golden Isles Crowns 3 Champions at Savannah Cup

Bringing Home the Hardware!

Three Golden Isles teams won the championship of their division at the Savannah Recreation Cup held November 18-19 at the Chatham County Soccer Complex.  Lee Swafford's U10 Devils outplayed all the competition to capture the overall title in the U10 Boys Gold division.  Charlie Morgan's U10 United and Craig Entwistle's U12 Rovers had equal success, bringing home first place in the Silver division for their age groups.  Congratulations to all the teams!

U12 United Wins State Rec Cup Championship- May 21, 2006
Our U12 girls captured the state championship in Columbus, GA 
defeating the Cherokee Shooting Stars 2-1 in the finals.   In addition,
they were presented with the Sportmanship Award in their division
by GYSA President Susan Conlon.  The girls finished the season 17-4-3.
The girls are coached by Pat Geer (right) and assistant coach Rick Butler (left).
U14 Boys Win in Dramatic Fashion

GISA Shootout by the Sea Tournament
The host U14 Boys coached by Mike Mayott, Dwight Sweat, and Jim Andersen
won the GISA Shootout by the Sea on May 21 on Jekyll Island, in a nailbiter of
a game that was decided by a dramatic penalty kick finale.  Goalie, Will Breuker,
took home the championship trophy for his outstanding effort!
