GISA Academy Player and Select Player Tryouts U9-U19 Boys/Girls 2011-2012
Golden Isles Soccer Association’s Academy Travel player and Select Travel player tryouts will be held the week's of May 31st and June 7th, 2011. Tryouts will be held for all ages U9-U19 boys and girls. Any player interested in attending the tryouts must register on line by clicking here. Register on line on or before 6/7/11 or at the field prior to the players tryout. A $15.00 per player fee is required when the registration is filled out online. If players registers on the day of tryouts the registration fee is $20 per player. Tryout dates for the 2011-2012 seasons are available on the club website and each player is encouraged to attend both tryout dates for their age group. If a player cannot attend tryouts the player must submit a player history prior to tryouts. A tryout fee of $15 must also be submitted with the player history before the tryout dates. Our coaching staff reserves the right to make a decision regarding player placement at any time during the tryout process. Our ultimate goal is to field competitive and well rounded teams at each level. Players will be considered regardless of their previous club affiliation and level of play as we know from past experience.
GISA’s soccer program is primarily made up of players from southeast Georgia and northeast Florida. As the club grows, we will be looking to add remote training locations to benefit our GISA players and teams. We will continue to offer a comprehensive training program and will expand these options as needed. We want all players to have access to the best staff, facilities, leagues, tournaments and soccer opportunities available and will use the resources necessary to provide this.
The rosters will be released for 2011-2012 season on June 5th, 2010 for U9-U13 teams and June 12th, 2011 for U14-U19 teams. They will be posted on GISA’s website www.goldenislesoccer.com. Players who have not confirmed their spot on their team with payment by June 14th, 2010 for U9-U13 teams and June 21st for U14-U19 teams will be removed from the team’s selection list. Team information, practices, practice times and locations will be released after tryouts. The coaching staff assignments will be announced on or before May 25th, 2011.
There will be no make-up date for tryouts, make ups will only be allowed for rain dates. All GISA tryouts are held at the Jekyll Island Soccer Complex. Tryout registration will take place under the pavilion at the complex. Please arrive 20-30 minutes early to allow enough time to register.
There are a select number of spots available for each age group. When the opportunity presents itself we will form a 2nd tier team for age groups. Teams will be expected to train twice per week with the occasional 3rd training session some weeks with the DOC and play home and away games in the North Florida Youth Soccer League or Region 4 leagues. High level teams for GISA may play in GYSA or NFYSL Premier League. Academy travel teams and Select teams are expected to attend one or more tournaments per season. This is an additional cost to the teams depending on the location and event.
