It’s easy to sit on the sidelines a criticize every move and call a referee makes.  However, all our refs must attend at least 10 hours of classes to get certified, attend at least 5 hours of classes and be assessed annually to maintain the basic Georgia Soccer (GYSA) certification (R9).  Many of our high school aged refs and adults have furthered their training with an additional 10 hrs to become R8 referees.  They pay for their classes and uniforms themselves and often work 6 games a day -  all for a love of the game.  It’s not an easy job.  As a result their numbers are dwindling and our club is in desperate need of adult (16 and older) referees.  If you are interested in becoming a referee, please check out the GYSA Referee Website at http://www.gareferees.com/, and contact our club referee coordinators for further details.
