U5, U6, U8 what does it all mean?   It’s confusing for all of us.

The "U" stands for under, and the number represents the age of play.

GA Soccer defines a player for an entire seasonal year (Aug 1 - Jul 31) based on their age as of Aug 1.   So a player who turns 6 on August 2 will play in the U6 division until the fall of the following year.
