GISA’s In-House/Rec. Preseason Camp

The GISA In-House/Rec. Preseason Camp is designed to develop the basic techniques/skills of soccer:  dribbling, ball control, heading, passing and shooting. Through teaching/coaching in a progressive manner (from simple to complex) and allowing each player to practice the skills.  The players will utilize tactical decision making through small-sided play, such as 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4.

The activities and small-sided games will create an environment that will develop creativity and problem solving skills, allow for individual differences, and develop exciting players.

2011/2012 Soccer Speed, Agility, and Quickness Training and Camps
Posted 12/8/11
Soccer Specific Speed, Agility and Quickness Training and Camp!
This is a Soccer specific speed and agility program open to boys and girls 9 years old and up.
I recommend this training to all players. It will help strengthen their athleticism, coordination, acceleration, and overall soccer skills. Personally, this training is what I need to advance not only as a soccer player, but as an athlete.
– Andy Craven; USA under 17 National Team
Each session will cover speed and agility work. Athletes will work on developing their footwork, changing directions, explosiveness, balance, proper body mechanics, reactions, and quickness. Incorporating these skills into game related situations also helps improve tactical awareness of each player. Most drills will incorporate a ball with emphasis on using proper techniques throughout the exercises.

Soccer is a game of 2 to 20 yard bursts, so soccer players rarely reach top speed. Therefore, acceleration is the most important part of running in soccer.

Futsol Summer Program

Futsal is the way the world plays indoor soccer.  It is played on all the continents of the world in over 100 countries by more than 12 million players.

Futsal is played on a basketball-size court.  It can be played on a variety of surfaces and is played with a smaller "No Bounce" soccer ball.  The game does not require the use of expensive dasher board - walls, as do other versions of indoor soccer.

Without the walls, futsal is a great skill-developer, demanding quick reflexes, fast thinking, and pin-point passing.  It is an exciting game for children as well as adults.

Great soccer superstars such as Pele, Kaka and Ronaldinho grew up playing the game and credit Futsal with developing their skills.  Futsal is played with a special low bounce ball, requiring players to use their skills, rather than the ball’s bounce, to propel it.

The sessions will consist of a half our of training followed by about 40 minutes of Futsal games.  Flats, indoor shoes or tennis shoes only.

Futsal - Location: Old Glynn Middle Gym behind Glynn Academy off of Egmont Street, Brunswick Time: 4:30pm-7:00pm Dates: June 15, 21, 28 & July 6  Ages: 7-9 , 4:30-5:45pm Ages:  9-13 , 5:45-7pm  (if there is interest I will hold a 14 & up age group session) Cost: $25
